I think this class is beyond interesting. I have learned several interesting about the rise and downfall of early roanoke. Compared to traditional classes, this class has a "wow" factor to it and it seems to go above and beyond in adventure!
This is the best class of the trimester by far. I have learned that the building I see on mainstreet today has not always been been there. This class lets me control my learning and how I want to learn it. Also I have the help of my peers who help explain things to me.
I like this class because we get to learn about our hometown and our school's history, and we get to go on fun trips and do activities instead of just studying from a textbook. In a "regular" class we would spend more time in the classroom taking notes and studying, but in this class we learn just as much in a more fun way. I have learned lots of cool things about HHS, Roanoke, and Randolph county that I did not previously know and lots of things about Ella Smith Dolls. I also like going to the learning center.
I love the community studies class so far. I have learned alot about Main Street and some amazing things that came to be in Roanoke AL. If i had to compare this class to a more traditional class i would say its way more interactive. We do alot more outside the classroom and its alot more injoyable.
This class is a lot more work than I thought it would be, to be honest. I have learned a lot about different things in our community that I have never even heard about.This class is a lot more interesting than most classes because I'm learning about the history that my whole family use to live in.
So far, I really like this class. I love how we meet up with the Learning Center every Friday and spend time with them. I've also really enjoyed learning about the town's history. In most regular history classes, we would learn about wars and the same people we've been hearing about for years, but in this class, we learn more about what makes this town great. We learn about our own history. We learn about things no one else outside of our county cares about, but to us it's really interesting. I now know that there is more to our stores downtown than what we see today. I know that this was a cute little town with a lot to offer.
This class is my favorite because we get to learn stuff we didn't know about Roanoke. I've learned that Roanoke had so many resources just in the downtown portion. This class we learn by looking through old documents and in a regular class we would just be sit in class read out of the book.
This class is a better way of learning; we don't have to sit and listen to boring lectures and learning through a textbook. We learn and then teach kids all the things that we have learned about this town. I wish that all my classes was like this one.

I think so far that community studies is the best class going at HHS! This class has taught me lots of things that I didn't know about Randolph County. In this class we gets to experience and actually go see what really took place versus other classes we would be doing work from the textbooks.
This is the class I look forward to every day because it is interesting and fun. I have learned many things about the upcoming of Randolph County and the history of our people and lands. This class is very different because we are hands on, in and out of the class: going places and doing so much.

I enjoy it alot. I've always likes history in general and now I get to learn more from a hands on perspective. I believe this is going to be a great year.
